Jan Stapel
Jan Stapel served as WAPOR President from 1953-54. In 1981 he was the first person to receive the WAPOR Helen Dinerman Award in recognition of his contribution to public opinion research. At the age of 28, he co-founded NIPO, which today is the largest research company of the Netherlands . Driven by personal interest and entrepreneurial flair, Jan played a key role in introducing political polling to the Netherlands . NIPO became a publicly well known company, the icon for market research by free publicity.
